I trust Mikhail takes on AI safety. He changed my mind on a lot of topics, often quite quickly. I'm looking forward to seeing the results of his project :)

I participated in a pilot of the workshop some months ago, and I can say that I was quite bluffed at the quality of the material. The interactive website through which we learned and practiced worked really well, and the format of practicing a dozen time each concept in open-ended text scenarios was key to getting the concepts really quickly. I'm still wondering how Camille was managing to advance a dozen open-ended scenarios in parallel, even with LLM assistance.

My main worries on this project are:
- The person who was coding the platform does not seem to work on the project anymore, so I'm not sure how much the quality of the workshop will be impacted now.
- I don't remember of the top of my head recent times when I used the knowledge I gained in the workshop. I think some followup material and tracking will be needed to make it actually stick.
- I expect the timeline for this project to scale to be quite long if Camille is the only person working on it. I think it would benefit from some organization backing it and setting soft deadlines and milestones.

@DavidCorfield What is the rationale for not publishing the name of the future executive director?

I just read the about page on yesonip28.org, and I am skeptical such an initiative could pass, as it would effectively ban the production of any animal based food in Oregon. Even if it did pass, I expect the main effect would be to move the meat production to another state.

I understand that the goal is actually to force the start of a conversation on animal cruelty through putting this on the ballot even if it won't pass, but I'm not sure what is the rationale for this being helpful.

@yesonip28 Could you give more details on how you expect the initiative to "help accelerate the animal liberation movement"?

I joined the EA and AI Safety community while living in Berlin, and Teamwork was instrumental in getting me to see myself as someone who can contribute to important causes, by providing a meeting place for the AI Safety meetup me and a friend started in 2022.

Signing the pledge was a transformative moment in my life, and I hope more people can get this experience too :)

I have a suspicion that the pledge is growing primarily because of increased EA membership. Does a part of the impact assessment address this concern? If increased number of EA is the main driving force, it would probably make it less likely that additional funding translates to additional pledges.

I think PauseAI is doing great work overall and would love for their reach to expans. However, I'm unsure of what to make of the very click-baity and somewhat misleading messages diffused by PauseAI France.

I expect the base rate of success for software implementing novel coordination mechanisms to be quite low, and I'm unsure how much people saying they're interested in such a software translates into actual users. Do you have some early evidence that this project will succeed at facilitating some meaningful changes?

I only knew about TAIGA from hearsay, so I'm glad to finally get information on it!
I would be interested in seeing some examples of how TAIGA has been impactful, and some general stats to see the health of the project. I intend to apply to access soon, but in the meantime, I think this information would help me and others assess the impact of the project.
